Dream cruise’s World Dream arrives in Singapore and starts to prepare for its first voyage from the Lion City starting November 6. It is to resume its operations with 187 crew members after completing a 14-day quarantine, which was set as a requirement by the local authorities. Furthermore, they will undergo a series of mandatory COVID-19 testing, they must test negative if they wish to sign-up for active duty.
The 150,695 gross ton mega-ship arrived on October 25 and will undergo thorough sanitization and cleaning before its inaugural “Super Seacation” sailings. This vital procedure is being done to ensure the safety and health of all people on board.
World Dream has been on a break in Rotterdam, Netherlands before it arrives in Singapore. It had been out of service ever since early February. World Dream will be the first cruise ship to restart its operation with Lion City as its base, it will also be the newest-built cruise ship in Singapore.
The cruise will offer short two and three-day package voyages that will be restricted to Singaporean residents. They have decided that per government guidelines, that they will operate with a capacity of no more than 50% passengers and will not be making any port calls.
Singapore will be the third Asian country to start cruise operations after Taiwan and Japan. Another cruise to resume its voyages from Singapore is Royal Caribbean, they will start in the coming December.
