Evac, one of the fastest growing cleantech solution companies in the world, has acquired Transvac Systems, the UK business specializing in the distribution and servicing of wastewater treatment systems, sanitary systems and ballast water treatment systems for ships and offshore platforms.
This is another important step forward for Evac who expanded their global operations by acquiring Cathelco, the UK manufacturers of equipment for ships in May 2018.
Evac continue to build their reputation on the supply of integrated water and waste management systems for ships, offshore platforms and buildings worldwide resulting in sales of around 160 MEUR in the last financial year.
One of Transvac’s key strengths is a long history as a supplier to the Royal Navy in the UK as well as many projects carried out for the offshore oil industry.
“The acquisition of Transvac supports our future growth in the navy and offshore sectors where the company has developed excellent customer relationships and a number of important certifications”, said Tomi Gardemeister, Evac Group CEO.
Transvac was established in 1974 and now employs 15 people at its premises in Ford, West Sussex near the south coast of England, within easy reach of Royal Navy bases in Portsmouth and the Southampton cruise terminal. Turnover for the company was 4.1 MEUR in the last financial year.
“We have been distributors for Evac for 38 years and therefore it is a natural progression to become part of the Evac Group as we are very familiar with their products and methods of operation”, said Martin Lowe, Managing Director of Transvac.
The company also has gained substantial experience in sales of ballast water treatment systems for the retrofit and newbuild markets in the UK and have been actively involved as a stakeholder in recent projects for the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Transvac has provided comprehensive services for these projects including commissioning, maintenance, technical and integrated logistics support.
Transvac’s Field Service capability is also regarded as being a valued commodity. All engineers are Offshore Certified and CONDO approved for global deployment.
