DSME Wins Contract For Large-Scale Floating Crude Oil Production, Storage And Unloading Facilities

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (CEO Lee Seong-Geun), formed in a consortium with Saipem, an Italian engineering company, won an order for large-scale offshore facilities in two years, is accelerating to secure jobs.

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) announced on the 14th that it won an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) order from Petrobras, Brazil’s largest energy company, together with Saipem, an Italian engineering company. The total contract size is about 2.6 trillion won, of which Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s contract amount is about 1.94.8 trillion won.

The FPSO won this time can produce 180,000 barrels of crude oil and 7.2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, and can store 2 million barrels of crude oil. Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) plans to build a hull and a part of the superstructure that can store crude oil.

Construction of this facility will be completed by the second half of 2024, and it is scheduled to depart for Brazil’s Bujios Field, one of the world’s largest deep-sea oil fields.
