Cruise Ship Employee Sentenced To Prison For Sexually Exploiting A Minor

A 38-year-old employee of a cruise ship has recently been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for reportedly enticing a 16-year-old female he had met on a vessel into carrying out sexual acts with him and also recording the sexual interactions to produce child pornography.

On Monday, Jose E. Martinez, a US District Judge, reportedly sentenced Daniel Crow following a plea agreement on 12 August. He has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment on the grounds of coercion or enticement of a female and buying and selling of children, counts to run concurrently.

In 2019 (July), Crow (who is from Stuart) met the victim as he was working on a cruise vessel in Alaska, per the US Department of Justice (DOJ) criminal complaint. The victim was reportedly on vacation with her family on the vessel.

After the cruise, the DOJ informed that Crow was in touch with the victim and was reportedly using a messaging application for soliciting lewd images.

Crow met the victim at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Stuart, where he was involved in sexual activities with her. He recorded it in 2020 (January) when the victim was only 17, per the complaint. Crow had kept the videos and conversations involving the victim on the cell phone.

The victim turned 18 in 2020 (October) and permitted Homeland Security Investigators to search her iPhone.

Crow was reportedly apprehended in May 2022 after one of his ex-girlfriends filed a complaint with the Port St. Lucie Police Department about the relationship between the victim and Crow. The ex-girlfriend discovered the relationship by going through his social media handle.

His initial appearance was on 25 May at the Southern District of Florida’s Fort Division. Homeland Security Investigations has examined the case.
