MV LE CHAMPLAIN, a French-flagged cruise vessel, reportedly reached the Chennai Port with 108 guests and 118 crew members from Sri Lanka’s Trincomalee. The ship is all set to sail to Trincomalee on Wednesday.
The tour operators have reported that the guests plan to visit Santhome Cathedral, Dakshin Chitra, St Fort George Museum, and Kapaleeswarar Temple.
Sunil Paliwal, chair of Chennai Port Authority, focused on the historical essence of the port and the crucial role it played in boosting international cruise tourism all over India.
He further specified the facilitating measures adopted by the state and central governments of the country, Vessel Agent GAC Shipping (India) Private Limited, as well as other agencies. He’s been hoping that the port will attract more cruise vessels in the post-COVID-19 phase with a modernised cruise terminal.
