On Wednesday, “Spectrum of the Seas,” renowned as “Asia’s most extensive luxury cruise ship,” made a grand entrance into the picturesque coastal city of Nha Trang, Vietnam, with 4,600 international tourists eagerly stepping aboard its decks.
The arrival of this majestic cruise ship brought a much-needed uplift to Vietnam’s travel industry during the low season of international tourism. As one of the largest cruise ships in Asia, “Spectrum of the Seas” had to anchor just outside Nha Trang Bay due to its size. The visitors, predominantly hailing from Europe, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore, excitedly disembarked onto smaller boats, providing an unforgettable approach to the beautiful shoreline.
During their stay in Nha Trang, the enthusiastic tourists explored some of the city’s most notable attractions. They marvelled at the wonders of the Institute of Oceanography, stood in awe of the historical significance of the Ponagar Tower, immersed themselves in the rich craftsmanship of Truong Son Craft Village, and found tranquillity at the Long Son Pagoda. In their pursuit of adventure, they also ventured into the city outskirts on cycling excursions, creating cherished memories.
After a memorable stay in Nha Trang, “Spectrum of the Seas” bid farewell to the vibrant coastal city and set sail for the iconic destination of Hong Kong. However, this wasn’t the ship’s first time in Vietnam. In March, it brought 3,500 foreign tourists to the coastal city of Vung Tau, further highlighting its commitment to showcasing Vietnam’s beauty to the world.
Operated by the prestigious Royal Caribbean International (RCI), “Spectrum of the Seas” stands at an impressive 347 meters in length, offering 16 decks filled with more than 2,000 luxurious cabins, boasting a remarkable capacity to accommodate up to 5,600 passengers in sheer elegance and comfort.
Vietnam, ever-welcoming and hospitable, has seen a resurgence in its tourism sector, with the country having received 6.6 million foreign visitors thus far. This impressive figure constitutes approximately 83% of the country’s ambitious annual target of eight million visitors, signalling a promising recovery for the travel industry after challenging times.
As the “Spectrum of the Seas” departed Nha Trang, it left behind cherished memories and lasting impressions, not only in the hearts of international tourists but also in the thriving tourism industry of Vietnam. With each grand arrival and departure, the country moves closer to reclaiming its position as a favoured destination on the global travel map.
