Five vessels belonging to the navy and 11 military aircraft of China were seen around Taiwan on Monday and Tuesday by the Ministry of National Defense, per Taiwan News.
These naval and aircraft vessels were tracked from 7 August (6 a.m.) to 8 August (6 a.m.).
Of 11 aircraft belonging to the People’s Liberation Army, an anti-submarine warfare plane, Shaanxi Y-8, flew to the southwest end of Taiwan’s air defence identification zone (famous as the ADIZ), per the MND on Tuesday.
No PLA aircraft, however, managed to cross the Taiwan Strait median line then.
Taiwan soon responded by dispatching vessels, aircraft, and also land-based missile systems for monitoring PLA activities, reported Taiwan News.
Beijing has reportedly conducted 57 ship sorties of the navy and 83 military aircraft sorties around Taiwan until this month. Since 2020 (September), China has boosted the use of grey zone tactics by increasing military aircraft and naval vessels operating around Taiwan.
