China Building A StarWars Style SuperShip To Strengthen Its Naval Fleet For Countering U.S

China has reportedly unveiled its super-ship concept, a nuclear-powered and railgun-armed aircraft carrier, reviving one of the old Soviet concepts in line with the nation’s bastion strategy in the South China Sea.

It could be more of a prestige weapon than a viable and sustainable warship design.

The SCMP notes that the vessel could carry several aircraft but differs from conventional carriers, as it is armed heavily with electromagnetic weapons like railguns, rocket launchers, laser weapons, coilguns, and other high-powered microwaves.

The source further notes that advanced technology transforms energy from this vessel’s power source into electromagnetic energy required for powering the high-powered weapons, facilitating a single warship to defend against air attacks, intercept missiles, engage in anti-submarine warfare, and also deliver precise strikes on land and naval targets.

It adds that the super-ship’s robust nuclear-powered electromagnetic mechanism could easily convert nuclear energy into better usable kinetic energy/electricity and drive many kinds of high-energy weapons, such as the railguns that can successfully hit targets in near space with guided ordnance up to seven times sound’s speed.

It says that the electromagnetic-specific projectiles could be reloaded automatically, like an automatic rifle, permitting greater speed and several projectiles fired than the adversaries.
