A US Navy war vessel reportedly took down three missiles that were fired from Yemen and were headed to the north, the US officials state.
According to the officials, the USS Carney, which is a Navy destroyer, was in the Red Sea. It intercepted three missiles. It was not immediately sure if they had been aimed toward Israel, even though Hebrew media suggested that Israel’s defence officials strongly believed that those were.
One of the relevant officials stated that the US doesn’t think that the missiles were targeted at the vessel.
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels have been expressing their support for Palestinians and have threatened Israel.
