The vessel “MSC Anita” was titled and delivered on Jan 9. Per the shipbuilder, the vessel, which is the second box ship successfully delivered to MSC, adopts the fascinating design concept of environmental protection and safety. Besides, the hull line is optimized and further empowered with high-efficiency rudder propellers and energy-saving equipment. This features shaft generators as well as air bubble tech. The vessel’s speed can go up to 25 knots.
The vessel’s generator and main engine have an independent scrubber to satisfy the most recent regulatory requirements and emission standards, per DSIC. In August 2023, DSIC successfully delivered and dubbed MSC Vivienne.
It is capable of accommodating about 16,520 standard containers. Besides, the ship has secured its LNG-ready class notation, meaning that the design enables it to be converted to operate on LNG efficiently.
Initially, the vessel is likely to sail on conventional fuel. The DNV-classed vessel is enabled with an advanced hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system (scrubber). In the meantime, the shipbuilder conducted a steel-cutting event for an LNG dual-fuel 16,000 TEU box ship for the MSC. The ceremony was conducted on Jan 5.
