U.S Denies Houthi Attack Claims On American Cargo Ship In Gulf of Aden

The US military on Monday denied the claims that were made by the Yemeni-led Houthi movement that it had reportedly attacked an American cargo vessel named Ocean Jazz in the Gulf of Aden. The Iran-backed Houthi terrorists’ report of a successful attack on the M/V Ocean Jazz is false, per the US Naval Forces Central Command.

NAVCENT has maintained consistent communications with the M/V Ocean Jazz throughout its transit. Earlier, the Houthi movement said that its forces had initiated a missile attack on the Ocean Jazz in the waters of the Gulf of Aden. It didn’t, however, say when or where exactly the attack occurred or if damages were caused.

The Yemeni armed forces go on retaliating to American/British aggression against the country by targeting sources of threats in the Red Sea and the Arab Sea, a Houthi military spokesperson named Yahya Sarea mentioned via a statement. The British and the US forces have reportedly launched strikes across Yemen against the Houthi forces over the recent weeks as a response to months of Houthi attacks on the Red Sea shipping that the Iran-led fighters cast as their response to the ongoing war in Gaza.

The Houthis, who had initially said that they were targeting only those vessels that are linked to Israel, said that they would be attacking the US vessels following their strikes. British maritime security major Ambrey noted that the US military contracted the vessel named by the Houthis on Monday.
