The Russian ship targeted by Ukraine was the Sergey Kotov, which was worth USD 65 million.
The ship was attacked using Magura V5 Naval drones and suffered damages to its stern, right and left sides.
HUR’s special Unit Group 13 and Ukrainian Naval Forces participated in the operation, supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
A video uploaded on social media platforms showed how the Russian Ship was sunk.
Andriy Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s chief of staff, said that Russia’s Black Sea Fleet symbolises occupation, so it cannot be present in Ukrainian Crimea.
Trains were halted on the bridge that connects the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia. In February, the Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian landing warship close to Crimea by using naval drones which breached the vessel’s port side, causing it to sink, per Reuters.
