The U.S. military informed on Wednesday that it had conducted strikes on two unmanned aerial vehicles in a Houthi-controlled region of Yemen that had posed a threat to merchant vessels as well as U.S. Navy vessels in the area.
The U.S. Central Command, however, did not specify if the strikes had been successful. According to the Centcom website, the actions were meant to safeguard freedom of navigation and make international seas more secure and safer for the U.S. Navy and merchant vessels.
