Indian Navy’s First Independent Headquarters ‘Nausena Bhawan’ Inaugurated In Delhi

India’s Defence Minister Inaugurates Navy’s First-ever “Independent Headquarters” in Delhi. Earlier, the Indian Navy operated from 13 locations, necessitating a purpose-built facility like the Nausena Bhawan, it said.

Rajnath Singh, defence minister, launched Nausena Bhawan, the new headquarters of India’s Navy at the Delhi Cantonment. The facility is equipped with advanced facilities and next-gen technologies.

According to the defence ministry’s statement, the Navy has created its first independent headquarters in Delhi, marking a significant milestone. Earlier, the Navy was operating from 13 locations, necessitating a purpose-built and consolidated facility like the “Nausena Bhawan”, it mentioned.

The inauguration represents the next step for India’s Navy, providing a centralized and technologically advanced headquarters that reflects the nation’s commitment to maritime excellence and national security.

The architectural structure of the complex was chosen via an all-India competition procedure, which focused on maintaining the building’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Comprising three wings and rising four stories, the building incorporates advanced construction tech to optimize sustainability and efficiency, according to the officials. Efforts toward energy and water conservation are crystal clear throughout the complex, with the integration of solar generation systems and advanced building materials.

The hybrid has a reinforced cement concrete construction system that facilitates the construction of large spans with maximum speed. The building’s design emphasizes integration with natural elements via internal courtyards and landscaped gardens, per the statement.

The statement said that internally, “Nausena Bhawan” has a congenial and comfortable atmosphere facilitated by ventilation, central heating, and air conditioning systems utilizing advanced oxidation plasma tech. Furthermore, the complex has an innovative integrated building management system, which coordinates and monitors security and utility systems.

According to the Integrated Habitability Assessment, the building has also received an IV rating, thereby underscoring its commitment to sustainable measures.

Besides, the complex boasts a robust three-tier security system, including technology such as auto-underbelly scanning of vehicles, face recognition cameras, power fences, vehicle stoppers, access control, bollards, and security cameras.

It claimed that in line with modern office norms, “Nausena Bhawan” has IT infrastructure backed by UPS systems, promoting a paperless environment and meeting the Navy’s demanding network requirements.
