MSC Cruises will perform the naming ceremony for its newest vessel, MSC World America, in PortMiami on April 9, 2025. The celebration acknowledges MSC Cruises’ dedication to Miami and the North American market, including onboard activities and a champagne bottle-breaking convention.
Rubén A. Rodríguez, President of MSC Cruises USA, stated that the cruise capital of the globe is the ideal spot to welcome MSC Globe America.
The company is looking forward to seeing the ship sail out of the new, next-generation cruise terminal, which was built in collaboration with PortMiami and Miami-Dade County.
As they build on their offering in the North American market and attract international guests toward the Caribbean, they are excited and glad to launch their most remarkable vessel yet to Miami.
The team eagerly awaits until April 2025, when they can welcome their guests to experience the world of choice that the new flagship has in store. In its maiden season, World America will sail seven-night eastern and western Caribbean excursions on alternate dates beginning April 12.
MSC has stated that once its newest cruise terminal in Miami opens up, it will be North America’s largest, capable of accommodating up to 36,000 guests daily.
MSC World America has been carefully built to limit its environmental impact. The vessel runs on low-emission LNG and is equipped with renewable energy sources. Shore power connectivity, where possible, reduces pollution by allowing the vessel’s engines to be turned off while in port.
Smart technology is deployed throughout the vessel to ensure guests’ comfort while conserving energy and water. A sophisticated onboard recycling program eliminates waste, and the propellers are specifically intended to be peaceful and not disturb marine life.
