Watch: Helicopter Of The French Navy Destroys Houthi Suicide Drone In Red Sea

A helicopter that belongs to the French Navy fully impaired a combat drone that belongs to the Houthis in the waters of the southern Red Sea to safeguard merchant vessels, the EU’s mission in the Red Sea, called Aspides, reported on Wednesday.

A French destroyer vessel detected an unmanned aerial vehicle (abbreviated as UAV) of the Iran-led Houthis flying close to the commercial vessels, per a statement received from the headquarters of Aspides in Larisa.

It added that the French warship’s helicopter, patrolling in the zone, was also guided by the destroyer to engage with and destroy the drone with its machine gun.

Aspides had been introduced in February to protect the critical maritime trade channel from missile and drone attacks by the Yemeni Houthi militia, who state that they have been retaliating against the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
