U.S. Forces Intercept And Destroy Houthi Deployed Drones Near Yemeni Coast

According to the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), four unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen had fired were successfully intercepted and destroyed.

The incident occurred on March 28 between 6:00 and 10:56 p.m. (Sanaa time), marking the second consecutive day of such activity.

These unmanned aerial systems posed an immediate threat to US Navy ships and commercial vessels in the area after they attacked a US warship and a Coalition vessel.

The drones that were defending themselves over the Red Sea were destroyed without endangering the US or coalition ships.

No injuries or damage were reported.

In a similar incident, On March 27, between 2:00 and 2:20 a.m. (Sanaa time), four long-range unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) that the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen had fired were effectively destroyed by the United States Central Command.

These UAS targeted a US warship and acted in self-defence over the Red Sea. No harm or injuries to coalition or American ships were recorded.

It was concluded that these weapons posed an immediate risk to nearby commerce ships and US Navy vessels. These operations aim to safeguard the freedom of navigation and improve the safety and security of international seas for merchant vessels and the US Navy.
