Ship Captain Reports 5 Houthi Missiles Fall Near Vessel in Red Sea, Per UKMTO

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Monitor said that a ship captain informed that atleast 5 missiles landed near his ship in the Red Sea, 172 miles from Hodeidah, in Yemen.

Thankfully, there were no damages and the ship is said to be on its way. UKMTO didn’t disclose any information about the vessel or the type of cargo it was carrying when the incident occurred.

However, the Red Sea has become quite risky and crossing it has become dangerous for sea-going vessels, most of which are taking a longer route around Africa.

International Shipping has been affected since Houthis began attacking vessels in the Red Sea. They have also expanded the area of attacks to the Arabian Sea, Mediterranean and Bab al Mandeb Strait.

The Houthis claim to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza over the Israel-Hamas Conflict.
