This innovation designed by Saipem, integrates sensors and artificial intelligence. In case of missing or improper connection to the fall protection system, the device emits an acoustic signal to alert the operator and a supervisor
Saipem, in line with its commitment to innovation and safety on construction sites, presents LiSa Hyper Harness, a new technology in the field of workplace safety. It is a smart safety harness that monitors the fastening of workers’ safety belts during operations at height, helping to protect them and reduce risks.
Its functioning is simple and effective: in case of missing or incorrect connection to the fall protection system, the harness emits an immediate acoustic signal, just like a car seat belt. In addition, the system automatically sends a notification to a supervisor, who can promptly intervene to verify the situation.
The new smart safety harness is equipped with intelligent sensors and connected to a central platform that collects and analyzes data, with the goal of enhancing the device’s effectiveness over time and fostering a safety culture based on responsible and conscious behaviors.
LiSa Hyper Harness was designed by Saipem and developed in collaboration with two other Italian companies: Confezioni Mario De Cecco, a supplier of personal protective equipment that will also handle the product’s commercial distribution, and the technology startup R13 Technology srl, an academic spin-off.
The system is currently in production and will be progressively introduced across Saipem’s worksites, in line with its Strategic Safety Plan, which considers the safety of all personnel and operations to be a fundamental principle of the group’s corporate culture, based on training, prevention and continuous improvement.
Saipem aims to extend the application of this solution beyond its own sites, working together with clients and partners to further strengthen protection measures for activities carried out at height.
