



Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering launched the world’s largest 15,000 cbm refrigerated vessel on February 20, 2026.
Owned by Shanghai Changzheng Shipping Co., Ltd, the vessel was designed for deep-sea fishing and features an advanced temperature-control system.
Its launch is a major milestone for the fishery industry chains and cold-chain logistics.
The ship will provide supplies to deep-sea fishing fleets and undertake the transhipment of marine products with full temperature control and refrigeration.
The vessel highlights its owner’s standards for high-end vessels and solidifies the company’s expertise in shipping perishable cargo.
It also shows its expertise in cold-chain logistics and the contribution it made to China’s maritime industry, especially fisheries.
Shanghai Changzheng Shipping had signed a deal with CIMC SOE for building 8 refrigerated transport ships.
As of January 2026, four vessels of this series have entered the construction stage.
The second vessel, a 15,000 cbm refrigerated ship, was launched on January 26, 2026.
The vessel measures 146 m lengthwise, 22 m breadthwise, has a cargo volume of 15,130 m3 and is primarily used to transport fresh catch between different ports.
The ship has 6 refrigerated compartments with zoned refrigeration, which support
cryogenic transport down to -35°C.
It has been classified by the China Classification Society (CCS) and has Ice Zone Class B navigation capability.
