Satellite images confirm that the U.S. has removed all naval warships from its strategic base in Bahrain, which serves as the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet.
The development comes as concerns of a military confrontation with Iran inch closer to reality, and the US fears Iran might target the naval base
The Navy took a similar decision in June after an attack on nuclear facilities in the region.
Per Israeli military, the US has attained a point of no return regarding a strike on Iran and that senior military officials would receive a very short notice before any U.S attack.
Amidst the tensions, diplomatic talks are ongoing and are scheduled to resume in Geneva under the mediation of Oman.
However, the threat of a US attack looms large and could materialise at any moment, given the massive deployment of U.S naval ships across the Middle East, including aircraft carriers and F-22 fighter jets that are in Israel.
There are destroyers and also the EC-130H Compass Call aircraft, which are one of the most advanced platforms for electronic warfare.
A retired senior official involved in regional operations said that now the question is when the first strike will take place and how extensive it will be.
