World’s Largest Cruise Ship ‘Wonder Of The Seas’ Sets Sail From US

The largest cruise ever built, Wonder of the Seas, set sail on its maiden voyage to the Caribbean from Florida late last week. Royal Caribbean International’s highly-anticipated ship, Wonder of the Seas, welcomes its first guests. Wonder is sailing 7-night Caribbean cruises through April 2022 before heading to Barcelona, Spain, and Rome for a summer in the Mediterranean.

The Royal Caribbean liner’s record-breaking size has attracted as many as 6,988 passengers who are being taken care of by 2,300 members of the crew. There is fast Wi-Fi available on the ship, which the passengers have been using to flood social media with photographs, videos, and comments. One passenger compared the ship to a whole city moving on water.

She weighs five times that of the Titanic at 236,856 tons and is 362m long. It cost around a billion pounds to build her and is leisure-packed with 19 swimming pools, 11 bars, and 20 restaurants.

The Wonder of the Seas was built over three years in Saint-Nazaire, France. She was to be originally launched in China in 2021; however, the Covid-19 pandemic forced a change of plans. A breath-taking feature of the ship is Central Park, which contains more than 20,000 plans and trees. Each bar on the ship has something unique to offer, and passengers would do well to visit them all!

There is something for everybody on the ship: entertainment hubs, adventure sports, a mini-golf course, gyms, a gigantic water slide, zip line, and spas. VIP suites take the comfort level on the ship several notches higher.
