The nation’s Infrastructure Ministry said that the Black Sea ports of Ukraine had shipped nine million tons of foodstuffs following a grain deal signed in July 2022.
About 397 vessels well loaded with agricultural items have reportedly departed from the ports of Odesa, Pivdenny, and Chornomorsk since the deal came into effect on August 1, Xinhua news agency informed, citing a statement published by the ministry.
On Thursday alone, seven vessels loaded with 102,000 tons of foodstuffs departed from Ukrainian ports for Asian, European and African nations, read the statement on Facebook.
On July 22, Ukraine and Russia signed a deal separately with Turkey and the UN in Istanbul to resume fertilizer and food shipments from ports in Ukraine to international markets via the Black Sea.
The agreement is going to expire in November. The officials in Ukraine have mentioned that Kyiv is interested in extending the deal and expanding a wide range of goods for export-specific purposes.
