MSC World Europa Crosses The Suez Canal To Reach Qatar For The FIFA World Cup

A huge Dh4.1 billion cruise liner is reportedly headed to Qatar for the month-long Fifa World Cup. It is sailing via the Suez Canal.

A 205,700-tonne luxury vessel, MSC World Europa, was inching via the Suez Canal, a crucial shipping link between the Red and the Mediterranean Sea, per vessel-tracking services. Sources add that the liner is expected to dock at Dubai’s Port Rashid on Wednesday, 9 November.

The ship embarked on its maiden voyage and is eventually going to moor at the Grand Terminal, based in Doha, where it will be used as a floating hotel from 19 November–19 December for fans attending the Fifa World Cup.

MSC World Europa can accommodate approximately 6,762 guests in about 2,633 cabins. It boasts six swimming pools, 13 dining venues, 14 ocean-view whirlpools, and over 30 cafes and bars.

It’ll have the naming ceremony before the World Cup starts on 13 November in Doha.
After the tournament, MSC Europa ― the largest vessel in its firm’s fleet ― is going to spend the winter offering cruises in the Arabian Gulf.

Two other MSC vessels will set sail for Doha very soon ― the MSC Opera and the MSC Poesia ― which will be docked at Doha Port to accommodate fans.

The cruise vessels have a capacity of 4,000 rooms and can accommodate up to 9,400 individuals. The cruise ship hotels will offer various cabin options, from ocean views and conventional cabins to balconies and luxurious suites.

Rooms on the three vessels range from $220 to $469 per night; however, prices may go up during weekends.
