Government Research Vessel And 25 Crew Members Rescued From Cyclone Hamoon

The Indian Coast Guard stationed in Odisha saved the Samudra Kaustubh, a government research vessel, and its 25 crew members from Cyclone Hamoon.

The ship was stranded in the middle of the Bay of Bengal due to an engine failure.

Due to the severe weather, some ropes on board fell and became entangled in the engines, causing this to occur.

In response to the distress call, the Indian Coast Guard dispatched their ship, the “Amogh,” to begin a rescue operation to save the ship and its crew.

The “Samudra Kaustubh” vessel is being towed back to safety and should reach Paradip Port by Wednesday evening.

Due to the Indian Coast Guard’s quick response, a potential crisis brought on by Cyclone-Hamoon was avoided.
