The “Adora Magic City,” China’s first large cruise ship manufactured domestically, was delivered, marking a significant milestone.
Despite five years of diligent design, building, and successful test runs, the ship was officially turned over in Shanghai on Saturday.
Its inaugural journey is set to be started on the 1st of January, 2024.
With a length of 323.6 meters and a gross tonnage of 135,500 tons, the “Adora Magic City” is the first cruise ship to be entirely built in China.
This is a truly extraordinary accomplishment in itself. It has 2,125 hotel rooms overall and can hold up to 5,246 passengers.
The ship is meticulously designed with a communal living and recreational space of 40,000 sq/m. The facilities of this cruise ship direct us to China’s advanced ability to manufacture such sophisticated cruise ships.
In a tasteful blend of Eastern and Western aesthetics, the interior design of “Adora Magic City” blends traditional and modern elements.
With wall paintings and art decorations honouring both the ancient and maritime Silk Roads, the ship improves the onboard experience.
Passengers can enjoy a variety of entertainment options, including sitcoms and exciting music shows.
A theatrical production titled “Marco Polo: an Untold Love Story” will take place in a seating of up to 1,000 people.
The “Adora Magic City” is scheduled to open for business at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on January 1, 2024, with a route to Northeast Asia.
This achievement demonstrates China’s ability to build ships, as well as the country’s potential to have a significant impact on the global cruise market and foster cooperation in tourism, culture, and other sectors.
