According to the Pentagon, an American battleship, as well as multiple commercial vessels, were attacked in the Red Sea on Sunday.
It might be a significant escalation in a series of marine attacks in the Middle East related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The Pentagon said that it is aware of allegations of assaults on the USS Carney as well as other commercial vessels in the waters of the Red Sea. It will provide information as it becomes available.
Per maritime security officials, a bulk carrier ship was attacked by at least two drones when sailing in the Red Sea on Sunday.
A US official mentioned that the attack began at 10 a.m. in Yemen’s Sanaa and lasted up to five hours.
