U.S Military Reveals New Concept To Counter China’s A2/AD Strategy In Contested Indo-Pacific

The US military has launched an operating vision to counter growing Chinese maritime anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) ability. Its Distributed Maritime Operations (abbreviated DMO) technique urges the navy to disperse war vessels over a gigantic area in case of a maritime dispute with Beijing.

Accomplishing this will help make it more difficult for the adversaries to notice and target American assets while allowing navy units to operate cooperatively. Such a unique operating concept spreads sensors and weapons strategically across vessels and aircraft to reduce the risks of being targeted immediately. The DMO was created to recognize China’s capability to limit the maritime freedom of Washington action by using its smart anti-ship missiles, sea mines, as well as other precision weapons.
