An accident occurred at the Kwai Tsing Container Terminal in Hong Kong.
Two cargo ships collided, and online footage showed a blue-hulled ship appearing struck amidships by a pink-hulled vessel.
According to the department, a container vessel which was going to berth at the terminal was involved in a minor collision with a docked ship.
The authorities were informed of the accident at 8:40 pm.
The blue-hulled vessel was loaded with containers and suffered some damage. At least 3 of its containers fell into the waters, however, they were later retrieved.
The department said it immediately sent officers and help to the scene.
Per reports, one of the ships is owned by Japanese shipping company ONE, and it had left Shenzhen Chiwan before the incident happened.
The incident is being investigated, and authorities have also made inquiries with the Marine Department about any reports relating to the accident. Fortunately, no injuries or oil spills were reported.
