U.S Navy Deploys Another Warship To Repel Houthi Attacks & Secure The Southern Border

The U.S. Navy sent another warship, the USS Stockdale, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer to repel attacks by Houthis and secure the southern border.

The warship left Naval Base San Diego to support U.S. North Command southern border operations, per Trump’s recent orders which included a national emergency declaration.

The executive order also clarified the role of the military in safeguarding the territorial integrity of the United States.

The warship would continue working with a U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment.

Stockdale returned to San Diego after a 7-month independent deployment to the U.S. third, fifth and seventh fleet areas of operation.

It also joined the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and remained in the 5th fleet after the departure of ABECSG.

When it was a part of the 5th fleet, Stockdale repelled several Houthi attacks while transiting the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and escorting operations of U.S.-flagged ships in the Gulf of Aden.

It also took down uncrewed aerial-ship cruise missiles. Stockdale did not sustain any damages and its personnel were also not injured.

Stockdale is to join USS Gravely and USS Spruance, Arleigh Burke-class destroyers that were deployed to the border in March.
