The UAE’s biggest Gaza aid ship, which has a field hospital and 7166 tonnes of essential supplies, docked in Egypt’s Al Arish Port.
It departed from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi on July 21, 2025, with 4372 tonnes of food, 1433 tonnes of shelter supplies, 860 tonnes of medicines and 501 tonnes of health items.
It is also the 8th aid ship sent by Emirates as part of the country’s Operation Gallant Knight 3, a relief campaign launched after the outbreak of war with Israel on October 7, 2023.
The Khalifa was met by representatives from charitable and humanitarian organisations, Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirates Red Crescent and Egyptian Officials.
The aid on the ship will be transported to Gaza, where civilians are bearing the brunt of a worsening humanitarian crisis.
The UAE has offered over $1.5 billion in financial support to Gaza since the start of the conflict.
The assistance included over 80,000 tonnes of aid to help alleviate the suffering of Palestinians facing chronic food shortages and limited access to health care.
Around 60,100 Palestinians have died and 15,027 have been injured since the conflict started, per the latest data released by the Gaza Health Ministry.
The UN children’s fund said that on Monday that on average, 28 children are killed in Gaza every single day.
UNICEF said on X that people in Palestine are dying due to bombardments, starvation and malnutrition.
The agency reported that over 18,000 children have been killed in Gaza over the last 22 months.
UNICEF added that Gaza’s children need water, food, medicine and protection. Over anything, they need a ceasefire now.
