Ukraine launched a drone attack on Russia on the night of November 2, 2025. The Russian Black Sea Port of Tuapse was severely damaged as a fire engulfed part of it, impacting the oil terminal as well.
Russian Air Defence Unit claimed to have taken down atleast 164 Ukrainian drones during the attack.
The Krasnodar region administration stated that the attack by UAVs is being handled, and it was a part of Ukraine’s campaign to disrupt military logistics. Though there have been no reports of casualties and it was not clear which infrastructure had suffered from damage.
Damages were also reported because of the falling drone debris, which also led to a fire.
The port houses the strategically important Tuapse oil terminal and Rosneft-controlled oil refinery, both of which have come under attack many times this year.
Ukraine has, in recent months, intensified its attacks on Russian refineries, depots and pipelines in retaliation for attacks on Ukraine’s power grid.
These attacks aim at putting pressure on fuel supplies, disrupting military logistics and preventing Russia’s wartime spending.
An apartment building in Sosnovy, outside Tuapse, was also damaged by drone debris, though no injuries have been reported.
