



The United States has sent an additional naval warship to the Middle East as tensions involving Iran continue to rise, according to a US official.
The official said the US Navy destroyer USS Delbert D. Black entered the region within the past 48 hours.
The deployment comes amid a large US military buildup in the Middle East. The official spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter.
With the arrival of the USS Delbert D. Black, the number of US Navy destroyers in the Middle East has increased to six.
The region is also hosting a US aircraft carrier and three littoral combat ships.
