According to a Houthis in Yemen, the group would strike any ship crossing the Red Sea on its journey to Israel, irrespective of whether the ship’s ownership has any connection with the Jewish state or not.
So far, the forces of the Houthis have solely targeted vessels reportedly owned or affiliated with Israeli enterprises or persons.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi warned in a tweet that his forces would prevent the passage of vessels heading to any Zionist entity, regardless of nationality, if they did not enter the Gaza Strip, wherein they need medicine and food. They will become legitimate targets for the armed forces.
We advise vessels and companies against engaging with Israeli ports out of worries about the safety of maritime travel, he says, adding that this is due to the Zionist enemy’s continuing carrying out of genocidal war, horrendous massacres, and blockade against those in Gaza.
He goes on to say that “no American or other” armed personnel have the “right” to accompany Israeli vessels or vessels en route to Israel.
