The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that three crewmen of a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier who were discovered unconscious off the coast of Bolinao, Pangasinan, had passed away.
After the crewmen were discovered unconscious Friday evening, the captain of the MV Blue Cecil requested medical aid from the PCG.
When the tragedy occurred, the MV Blue Cecil was travelling about 149 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao in Pangasinan on the way to Singapore.
However, close to 9:30 p.m., the captain notified the PCG Command Center that the vessel’s duty doctor had ruled the unconscious crew members dead.
Per the PCG, the cadavers can be transported to the Port of Manila by the BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402).
